Covid 19 Policy

Covid-19 Policy Update 7th January 2022

We are delighted that at last, our SA borders are open to the rest of Australia! We know so many of you have had to postpone your tours with us and we very much look forward to, at last, welcoming you onboard!

Keeping our passengers and our crew is of the utmost importance, and as such all guests boarding the MV Rodney Fox must:

  • show proof of current (in date) vaccination.
  • bring a Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) to take at boarding in front of our crew. Only guests testing negative on their RAT will be permitted to board.
  • bring their own mask and snorkel (for Australian sea lion dive) or purchase from us.

If you have your own regulators for the ocean floor cage, we recommend that you do bring them, though we will still hire regs to guests who need them.

We will aim to have RAT’s onboard for guests who could not obtain one themselves, however with the current RAT shortages we do not have a timeframe as to when we will be fully stocked up. We would very much appreciate if guests can bring their own.

We have also made changes to our credit policy. For guests who are unable to join due to Government  Covid border restrictions or lockdowns, we will still offer a credit. This is 3 years for domestic guests and 5 years for internationals.

For any other Covid reasons, such as testing positive or being identified as a contact and having to isolate, our normal terms and conditions will apply. We strongly urge all guests to take out Travel Insurance that covers Covid related cancellations.

There is now no requirement to register your arrival with EntryCheckSA.

Please note that these directions can change at short notice. The most important thing to do is to follow all current directives given by SA Health/Police. Current information can be found on the covid-19.sa.gov.au/travel site.

If you are traveling from an area that has Greater Adelaide as a hotspot. Please note that guests can transit through Adelaide airport without this being classed as Greater Adelaide. This is on the proviso that you do not leave the airport terminal.

If you need daily wifi to complete the SA Daily Symptom Tracker, this will be arranged onboard. We have wifi available most of the time at the North Neptune Islands. Upon boarding, our crew will note who needs access to the Daily Symptom Tracker and if we are at a location without wifi, our crew will schedule a time for the boat to move to allow this.

We will continue conducting health checks before boarding and twice daily whilst onboard. Our crew will need to sight your vaccination record. This will happen at the pick-up location before getting on the bus to go to the MV Rodney Fox.

We do ask that if you have any cold or flu-like symptoms that you let us know and politely request that you do not turn up for boarding.

We can’t wait to have you onboard saying hi to our wonderful finned friends!
